Energy Check

Energy Check is a locally owned Blacksburg company that has improved comfort and efficiency in New River Valley homes since 2007. The starting point is a home energy audit with diagnostic testing such as blower door tests, followed by upgrades: attic air sealing, insulation, crawlspace encapsulation, windows and doors, and moisture control. HVAC work includes replacing a system or upgrading to a high-efficiency heat pump, plus heat pump water heaters. Ventilation with an energy recovery ventilator is offered for indoor air quality, and preventative maintenance programs are part of the offering. The team applies building science principles to existing and new homes and also performs code inspections and helps with water damage.
